Fine Arts Center

  • The Fine Arts Center is a new program that operates in 12-week semesters. Specialized programming for all levels of interest in Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Art are taught by area professional instructors. Students may take more than one class a semester and may also choose between different disciplines in that same semester.

  • There are 2 steps: 1) Pay the annual enrollment fee of $60 (enrollment fee is waived for Senior Action members). 2) Register and pay for the classes you would like to take either in person at our reception desk or online by clicking “register” above.

Programs/ Classes/ Events

  • Yes. There are multiple membership options. Fine Arts Membership for Fine Arts Center classes only, Berea Center membership for classes at the Berea Center or Full Membership includes both of these. We accept SilverSneaker, Renew Active, and Silver & Fit members and waive the membership fee for those enrolled in these programs. You do not need to be a member to participate in our daily lunch program.

  • Members can register online and in-person at the facility. Due to the volume of calls, we do not take registrations over the phone.

  • Click “Register” at the top of this page. Your key-tag number and the phone number you have on your account at Senior Action are required to log-in.

  • You will pay the first month at time of signing up for bank draft. The next payment will come out on the first business day of the following month.

  • The monthly bank draft requires that you cancel, in writing, via our Cancellation form, at least 15 days prior to the draft you wish cancelled. With less than 15 days written notice, the next scheduled draft will be debited from your account and the cancellation will be applied the following draft. No refunds, whole or partial, are given for cancelled membership by draft.

  • Yes! We understand that sometimes you are unable to participate for an extended period of time. Once every 12 months, you may put your monthly bank draft on HOLD for up to 3 months by completing the HOLD Form. We must receive the completed form at least 15 days in advance of the first draft you wish to suspend. The draft cycle will automatically resume on the next draft cycle after the last month held.

  • Because Senior Action will incur fees due to your NSF, we will charge $35 each time a draft bounces and Senior Action does not receive the monthly membership fee. Your membership will be suspended until the monthly membership fee is paid as well as the $35 per NSF fee(s) are collected. We will attempt to draft this amount from your account one time unless you let us know that you want to pay it a different way.

  • If you pay by bank draft, complete the cancellation form at least 15 days prior the first business day of the month. Renew your membership by paying the annual enrollment fee. Your membership will expire 12 months from the date of your renewal. Members who paid the annual enrollment fee may request a refund which will be prorated based on the number of months remaining. Based on the day of the month, the next month’s payment may be deducted from the prorated amount due to the member.

Monthly Payment Plan

  • Yes, we offer a monthly payment plan through an automated bank draft.

  • Yes. This is an automated system using ACH to draft the monthly fee from your checking or savings account. We are unable to set up manual monthly payments or monthly payments via credit or debit cards.

  • Either a cancelled check or a deposit slip with the bank’s routing number and your account number. A letter or official document from your bank with the routing number and account number is also acceptable.

Refunds

  • A prorated refund can be issued based on the number of months left on the membership.

  • We are unable to process refunds for payments made by bank draft.

  • We will issue refunds if we receive writen notice of the cancellation 7 days prior to the registration deadline or the beginning of the class. Trips have their own refund policy.

  • No refunds are given if Senior Action incurred expenses on your behalf prior to the class or program (such as specialized supplies, food) or after the 7-day cancellation period.

  • Payments made by cash or check are refunded by check from our third party accounts payable vendor and take at least 14 days for delivery. Payments made by credit card can be refunded immediately and will be put back on the card used for the purchase. If that card is not available, the refund will be processed as a check.

  • Refunds can be issued as credit to your account to use at a later time. Please note that any funds in your account must be used by the end of each fiscal year, which falls on June 30. Another option is to consider designating the refund as a donation to Senior Action.

  • No. Senior Action manages the participation in programs which often have a waiting list.

Daily Lunch Program

  • Yes. The cost for lunch is $6 per meal.

  • Yes, our meal program is supported through a grant from the SC Department on Aging. This grant seeks to provide a nutritious meal to seniors, 60 years and older. Provide some basic information at the Receptionist’s Desk to get started. A representative from the local Area Agency on Aging will contact you to collect information needed for this grant program.

    If you qualify to participate in the lunch program at no cost, donations of any size are always appreciated and allow us to serve more people. Additionally, it is expected that lunch participants assist in setting up, serving, and cleaning up.
